Program Description
Poetry invites us to listen beyond the literal meaning of words, to the rhythm, imagery, and associations that give language its depth. In hypnosis, poetic language can open pathways to unconscious exploration and connection, allowing new meanings and possibilities to emerge without the need to explain or define them.
Poetry is not always something we bring into hypnosis. Sometimes it emerges naturally in the movement into trance. Words begin to find their own rhythm, images unfold, pauses become meaningful, and language takes on a quality that is itself poetic. In a sense, the trance becomes the poem.
This experiential workshop explores the poetic nature of hypnotic language and how rhythm and spontaneous expression can deepen the hypnotic experience. Participants will discover how to weave in and out of existing poems, follow the poetic flow that emerges within the therapeutic encounter, and recognize the poetry already present in their own language. Through demonstration and practice, they will explore how this naturalistic approach can deepen trance, invite unconscious discovery, and facilitate therapeutic change.
