Program Description
Autistic clients commonly experience challenges in hypnosis and psychotherapy when practitioners do not understand their needs and processing style. Unfortunately, current research and knowledge on autism—and the diverse ways it manifests—has not trickled down to all helping professionals.
Many clinicians may be relying on outdated information on Autism and feel ill-equipped to recognize and adapt therapy for Autistic clients—particularly those with “subtle” presentations. This neuro-affirming training is designed to bridge this gap by providing updated information about less-obvious autism as well as practical tools and insights to help therapists support the emotional, relational and processing needs of autistic individuals.
Presenters
Christine Molina, LCSW has spent the last 10 years understanding autism (particularly less obvious presentations) and learning ways to adapt therapy for autistic clients. She has presented several neuro-affirming trainings on Autism and ADHD and is passionate about changing how people view the natural and wide variety of ways that brains are wired and process information.
Christine is an EMDRIA-Approved Consultant and a facilitator for EMDR Basic Trainings and for an advanced EMDR training on EMDR, Polyvagal, & Ego State Therapy. In her work with clients, she uses EMDR therapy, hypnosis, AEDP, IFS, ego state therapy, somatic experiencing and DBT to help her clients thrive and love their brain!
Anita Jung, LPC-S, LPA, is a psychotherapist and the founder of the Jung Wellness Institute. She currently serves as President of the Central Texas Society of Clinical Hypnosis and is a past President of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. She also contributes to the International Society of Hypnosis as newsletter editor and former Board Member-At-Large. Anita is internationally recognized as a leader in clinical hypnosis and is an Approved Consultant with ASCH. Her work spans clinical practice, training, writing, and consultation. She shares her expertise through published articles, book chapters, audio recordings, lectures, and workshops. Her work is grounded in a belief that healing is not only possible, but deeply
